Teaching Content:

This course introduces students to the complex craft of scientific writing. The program covers fundamental aspects involved in the making of a scientific publication including:

  • The ability to identify and evaluate information sources.
  • The most important techniques for bibliographic research.
  • Knowledge and use of library catalogs and specialist databases.
  • Best practices for structuring the content of an BSc/MSc (and PhD) dissertation and a journal article.

Each session exposes students to conceptual tools and provides hands-on experience through interactive sessions based on analysis, review, and editing of selected scientific texts.

The course is designed for students of civil engineering and architecture as well as real estate engineering and management.
