The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has appointed Dr.-Ing. habil. Gennaro Senatore of ILEK as a Lead Expert to conduct a Preparatory Action for the New European Bauhaus (NEB).
The NEB is an environmental, economic, social and cultural project that combines sustainability, investment, affordability, accessibility and design to help deliver the European Green Deal and its overarching goal to make EU the world’s first climate-neutral bloc by 2050. NEB core values and principles are mapped onto the dimensions of Sustainability, Aesthetics, Quality of Experience and Inclusiveness.
Gennaro Senatore is, since January 2023, the Lead Expert for the main area of Emerging Technologies and will collaborate with other experts across Europe on this highly ambitious and interdisciplinary project over a two-year period to streamline existing knowledge frameworks including standards, codes of practice, guidelines and the state-of-the-art, which are relevant to the NEB dimensions. The aim of the Preparatory Action is to produce a Knowledge Management Platform and a Self-Assessment Toolkit that will enable partners and beneficiaries to align with NEB core values and principles during project development as well as contribute to alignment with available funding.
