Hessischer Architektentag 2022 Smart Green - Designing Sustainability Digitally

This year's Hessian Architects' Day took place on 18 October 2022 in Neu-Isenburg and focused on the topic of "How does digitalisation support an effective circular economy in planning and building?" The Hessian Architects' Day focused on digitalisation as a possible key to sustainable and circular planning and building. Research and construction projects were used to demonstrate the potential of digital tools that serve the purpose of closing material cycles and optimising processes.

The presentation by Prof. Lucio Blandini, ILEK Stuttgart / Werner Sobek AG, dealt with the end-to-end digitalisation of all processes in the construction industry and necessary savings in CO2 emissions and resource consumption. Among other things, his statement was: "In view of the global challenges we all have to face in the coming years, it is clear: without a much stronger end-to-end digitalisation of all processes in the construction industry, we will not be able to achieve the necessary savings in CO2 emissions and resource consumption. It is also clear: in the future, we must orient ourselves to the interests of our planet, not to the particular interests of individual groups. Digitalisation can help us in this."

In his presentation, Prof. Blandini used various construction and research projects to show the potential of digital tools that can be used to close material cycles and optimise processes.
